Superchannel was a network of local studios used by people and communities as discussion forums, presentation mediums, and physical gathering places. It was a platform that enabled people to produce internet TV, engaging users in the creation and evolution of content. Started in 1999 (six years before YouTube), Superchannel began at a time when interactive live streaming was not yet commonplace. More than 30 studios opened in different locations before Superchannel activities ended in 2005. Some of the studios, such as Tenantspin, continued using other media platforms for broadcasting.
